Using the Bloom App Block
Please note that this article is only relevant for Shopify 2.0 themes. If you're unsure whether you have a 2.0 or vintage theme, read this Shopify article.
An Introduction to Theme Blocks
A theme block is a single piece of content that has been added to your theme, whether it be a paragraph of text, an image, or a more complex form. Your theme is built from many of these blocks.
If you're new to using theme blocks in your Shopify 2.0 theme, the best way to get familiar with them is to open your theme editor and see them in action.
- From your Shopify admin, go to Online Store > Themes.
- Find the theme that you want to edit, and then click Customize.
From here, you will see your home page, and a sidebar with all of the added sections and blocks. You can add new sections/blocks, or edit existing ones. They can also be re-ordered, or deleted.

The Bloom App Block
An app block is just like any other block, but it has been built by the app developer to allow you to choose where to insert their app on your online store and manage how it displays.
Our Bloom app block can be found with the other blocks in your theme editor.
Note: The Bloom app block is only available on the Product and Cart templates. You can change which template you are editing by using the dropdown menu.
To add Bloom to your online store:
- From your Shopify admin, go to Online Store > Themes.
- Find the theme that you want to edit, and then click Customize.
- From the dropdown menu, select the template that contains the section that you want to edit.
- Click + Add section or + Add block depending on where you want Bloom to appear.
- Scroll to the bottom of the pop-up, or Search for Bloom - Date Picker.
- Click the app block to insert it and see a live preview on the page.
- If you don't see Bloom appear on the page, check you have completed all required setup steps after installation.
- When you are happy with the placement of Bloom, click Save to publish your changes.
You can re-position Bloom by dragging the block up or down using the provided handle icon. To change Bloom's alignment to be left, center or right, use the provided app block settings.
