How does Early Bird handle deferred payments on Shopify?

"We're a wholesale store, and most of our products are available for pre-order. We’d like to extend the payment collection period for pre-order items beyond Shopify’s standard authorization window, which I believe is 7 days. I understand that Early Bird offers a feature to set the final payment collection date beyond this limit. Could you explain how that works?"

Deferred payments can be setup via our pre-order campaigns, and are created as a purchase option on the product. This allows the customer to pay a deposit upfront, and Early Bird will collect the remaining balance on the due date you specified - either on a selected date or after X days.

For the customer, they will see the payment information throughout their purchase journey (on the product page, view cart, and at checkout). It will inform them of the amount they need to pay now, the amount they need to pay later, and when the deferred payment is due.

When they checkout, Shopify will vault their card details and Early Bird will automatically charge that payment method on the due date to collect the remaining balance for you.

Our app will email your customers their deferred payment receipt automatically as well.
